Beckford lies near the old salt way from Droitwich, at the southern foot of Bredon Hill about 7 miles from Tewkesbury and 8 miles from Evesham. As one of several small villages around the foot of Bredon Hill is has easy access to Bredon Hill as a walking and recreation area. It lies close to the border between Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and was originally situated in Gloucestershire, but since 1931 is part of the Worcestershire district of 'Wychavon'.

The village straddles the busy A46 trunk road, which divides the village into Little Beckford, on the south side of the road and Beckford to the north.
