New link in early history
While browsing the internet, I came across an interesting website which gives details of the history of 'The Beckford Priory and Church'. I am sure many of you will have already seen the website, but for anyone who hasn't, it is well worth a read. Go to the early history page and follow the link at the bottom of the page.
Housing plans for Beckford
As you are all aware, the new government have changed the goal posts as far as housing plans are concerned. The latest 'Wychavon' magazine, which dropped through our letter boxes recently has more information on page 23. Also, there is more information on the South Worcestershire Joint Core Strategy website.
Flood presentation
Steve Jorden from Wychavon Environmental Services has created a small presentation about local village flooding. Visit the flood page for more details.
Attention all young people NEW
Beckford Community Council will be holding a meeting on September 17th at 7pm in the Village Hall for parents and children of the Village.
The purpose of the meeting will be to see if there is any interest in setting up a Children’s Council. The ideas that are put forward could see the formation of a network of activities that will benefit all young people.
As the Village is fortunate enough to have a Village Hall and playing field, a Social Club, nature reserve and Church it makes sense to utilise our assets and talents for the benefit of the Community as a whole.
Volunteers will be needed to help with activities and the Community Council and the Parish Council will do all it can to facilitate this scheme going forward.
