Road Closure NEW!
Now that the extra flood drainage in Back Lane is complete and they have re-surfaced the road, plans are in place to dig it all up again for sewerage work!!
After the flooding in July 2007 when the sewerage system in Beckford was unable to cope; and raw sewerage backed-up into some peoples properties, Severn Trent have finally agreed to update the system in Beckford. This work is scheduled for September 2009 and will mean that Back Lane will again be closed for a period of about 5 weeks. For details on the work to be carried out and more information about the road closure click HERE (for a small map) and HERE for details.

Recycling in Beckford
The new recycling wheelie bins in Beckford have now been with us for some weeks now. Some people have expressed concerns that plastic recycling seems to have taken a step backwards, in that now, only plastic bottles are on the list of plastics allowed in the Green Wheelie Bins. Click Here for more information - an explanation of the situation and some quotations from both Wychavon District Council and Severn Waste (the company who sorts the recycled materials).
